It is our pride and pleasure to welcome guest artist Rachel Walker to Kansas City Aerial Arts. Rachel is an elite aerial trainer based out of Montreal and we couldn’t be more excited to have her in our space.
Rachel Walker will be offering several workshops at KCAA.
She will also be available from 9/28-10/5 for privates and semi-privates in a variety of disciplinces including (but not limited to):
Artistic Development (appropriate for all apparatuses)

Monday, 10/1: 7:30-9:00p
Discover the Cloudswing, a rope suspended by 2 points. This workshop will explore wrapping, rolling and creating shapes in the cloudswing. Students with an appetite for adventure will experiment with mini drops, and choreographic sequences.
Prerequisites: Previous aerial experience, Comfortable inverting on own.
Flexibility for Aerialists
Tuesday, 10/2: 6:00-7:30p
Learn and practice new techniques for improving flexibility, avoiding injury, and developing a greater range of motion. This workshop includes warm-up, followed by solo and partner stretching exercises. Emphasis will be on developing splits, over splits. This class will not cover contortion. You will leave the workshop with safe and effective ways to improve your flexibility.

Saturday, 9/29: 3:30-5:00p
Thursday, 10/4: 7:30-9:00p
Artists will learn new techniques to awaken the creative process, and tools to deliver a strong performance. This workshop will focus on artistic exploration through movement on your chosen aerial apparatus.
Prerequisites: int/ advanced level / comfortable inverting on own
Price: $50 ea.
Rachel Walker bio:
Trained by legendary swinging trapeze coach, Victor Fomine. She starred in Cirque du Soleil’s “KOOZA” on solo swinging trapeze. A guest instructor at École National de Cirque. She graduated from their 765 hour advanced teacher training program in 2012, with an AEC diploma. In 2013 she was honored with a professional development grant from POLO CIRCO (Buenos Aires), and has gone on to establish herself internationally.
Her students have been featured in: Cirque du Soleil's "O", “VAREKAI”, & “LUZIA”, Cavalia’s “ODYSSEO”, Dragone "LE RÊVE”, NOFIT State (Wales), Circus Monti (Germany), SOLYCIRCO Festival (Germany), YOUNGSTAGE Festival (Switzerland), GYNOIDES (Sweden), Palazzo (Germany), Broadway Variété (Switzerland), Midnight Circus (Chicago), Cirque Mechanics (Las Vegas), The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival; and accepted into professional institutions such as ENC, ECQ, ESAC, and Flic.
Born in the heart of the Sonoran desert. Rachel discovered trapeze in 1999 at San Francisco Circus Center. When she is not teaching she can be found flying through the air.
