Rachel Walker Workshops

Rachel Walker makes her second visit to KCAA and brings high-caliber technical knowledge and creative inspiration. Rachel’s biggest strength, among many, is her experience in act creation. She is available for private lessons, which we couldn’t recommend more.

Creative Explorations $60  

Tuesday, Feb. 19th 7:30-9p

Saturday, Feb. 23rd 11a-12:30p

Cultivate creative space, deepen your artistic practice, and learn tools to deliver a strong performance.  This workshop will focus on artistic explorations and improvisation on your chosen aerial apparatus.

Prerequisites:  Intermediate/ Advanced level dedicated aerial practice 

Cloudswing Explorations Pt. 2 $60

Wednesday, Feb. 20th 6-7:30p

Discover the Cloudswing- A rope suspended by 2 points.  We will wrap, roll, and create shapes in the Cloudswing. Students with an appetite for adventure will experiment with mini drops, and choreographic sequences.

Prerequisites:  Previous aerial experience, comfortable inverting on your own.

Intro to Dynamics in the Air: Beats, Drops and Rolls $60

Thursday, Feb. 21st 6-7:30p

Explore the foundations of dynamic movements on lyra, trapeze and silks. We’ll focus on safe progressions, body alignment & engagement to move with the greatest of ease. Come with an appetite for adventure.

Prerequisites: Intermediate/ Advanced previous aerial experience,  3 pull ups, comfortable inverting on own

Rachel Walker Bio:

Rachel Walker is a Montreal-based aerial trainer. A guest instructor at Ecole National de Cirque, Rachel starred in Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA, performing on the solo swinging trapeze. Her students have appeared in some of the following productions: Cirque du Soleil's 'O', Varekai, & Luzia as well as Cavalia's production of ODYSSEO, Cirque Plume, GYNOIDES and many more.
