🟣 A Gentle Way to Begin
If you’re searching for aerial yoga, you might be curious about movement in the air. Maybe you’ve seen images or videos of people suspended in fabric, moving gracefully or stretching into unfamiliar shapes—and thought: “That looks kind of amazing.”
You might be looking for something:
- That helps you reconnect with your body
- That’s creative, mindful, or expressive
- That feels strong, but not overwhelming
- That offers a sense of support—physically and emotionally
Whatever brought you here, you’re not alone. Many people start their journey with “aerial yoga,” even if they’re not entirely sure what it is. It’s a doorway—into something different, something freeing, something worth exploring.
✨ What Is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial yoga typically uses a wide fabric hammock, suspended close to the ground, to support familiar poses and stretches in new ways. Some classes are restorative, others more flow-based—but most emphasize breath, body awareness, and a meditative pace that invites participants to slow down and tune in.
It’s often practiced in a quiet space, with minimal instruction and an inward focus—sometimes blending elements of yoga, mindfulness, and even guided meditation. For many, it offers a calming experience that reconnects them with their body through gentle suspension and stretch.
People often find aerial yoga when they’re looking for something beyond a typical workout—something creative, supported, and intentionally different.
And even if you’re not sure you want “yoga” per se, something about the idea of moving in the air—of being held, lifted, or invited to explore your body in a new way—keeps drawing you in. That’s worth listening to.
✨ Another Way to Explore Aerial Movement
There’s more than one way to begin moving in the air—and it doesn’t have to start with yoga or meditation.
Some classes focus on stillness. Others, like ours, are built around strength, exploration, and guided progress. In our entry-level aerial classes, you’ll work with fabric (called silks) and trapeze bars to build real-world strength, coordination, and trust in your body.
You don’t have to climb or flip on day one.
In fact, most of what you’ll learn early on happens on the ground—with gravity as your guide, not your obstacle. We teach foundational skills step-by-step, so you always know what to expect. As your confidence grows, so does your movement.
You’ll be in class with other adults who are also new to aerial.
The pace is steady, the group is small, and the instructors are there to support you every step of the way. We work hard to make sure no one feels left behind or out of place.
You’ll build strength. You’ll move.
And you’ll do it in a space where encouragement, community, and shared progress are part of the experience.

What You Can Expect in a First Class
Most people come in feeling a little nervous—and that’s normal.
Our first-level aerial classes are designed for complete beginners. Whether you’re here out of curiosity, looking for a new way to move, or easing back into fitness, you’ll be guided step-by-step in a supportive group setting.
Here’s what your first class might look like:
- A guided warm-up to prepare your body and introduce the movement style
- Hands-on instruction with fabric or trapeze—starting on the ground and slowly introducing supported weight shifts and low-level skills
- Opportunities to explore at your own pace, with options to modify or pause at any time
- Encouragement from instructors and classmates, many of whom are also trying this for the first time
- Moments of accomplishment—whether that’s lifting off the ground, holding your own bodyweight for a second longer, or just showing up
You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need to be strong.
That’s what this class helps you build—with guidance, not pressure.
It’s a physical practice, yes—but also one that supports confidence, trust, and a new way of experiencing your body.
