
Neil Higginbotham
Artistic Director
Neil is a dancer and aerialist who recently relocated from New York City to a farm on the outskirts of Kansas City.
Since 2001 Neil has been teaching dance, performance skills, improvisation, and circus for individuals, teams, and groups (up to 350 members). His approach is technique first, glitter and sequins second. He has performed on 4 continents, in 48 states and one of his proudest performances is his third with PHISH on New Years Eve at Madison Square Garden.
While in NYC Neil wore a variety of hats within the arts as Choreographer, Rehearsal Director, Director, and Artistic Director. Neil has performed with Ben Munisteri Dance Projects, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, Alison Chase / Performance, Grounded Aerial Dance Theatre, 3oh3!, Gotham at Webster Hall, Ke$ha, Deerhoof, Peaches, the Tony & Emmy award winning Broadway production BLAST!. Step Up 3D, Ugly Betty, and Law & Order. During his time at Circus Warehouse Neil served as the Director of Teen Workshop, creating and cultivating individual acts, show concepts, as well as silks and partnering coach.
Neil’s current role is with Blue Springs HS as the Assistant Director of the Golden Regiment Color Guard. Neil is also co-owner of KC|NY HOME, a sustainable company founded in 2020. In addition to dance and aerial experiences, Neil is also a health coach, teacher of meditation and has a deep unwavering love of black coffee.
Neil will be leading both Aerheart and the Training Company along with teaching classes in the studio.
He is available for private instruction in Silks, Choreography, aerial and ground partnering and movement.
He is elated to join the Kansas City Aerial Arts family.
