Internationally renowned and motivationally captivating, Martika hails from Kansas City, MO. Born into a military family, Martika began traveling the world at a young age. This exposure to international performers sparked her interest in the circus arts, and at the age of 8 she ignited her passion for the performing arts through training in jazz, modern dance and classical ballet. Her passion for dance flourished when she discovered hula hooping. Constantly looking to push herself, in 2008 Martika sought out the best instructors the world of circus has to offer, this delightfully dangerous daredevil studied circus arts, fire, escapology, and a slew of sideshow skill sets before ever taking a stage. Along her path to being an entertainer Martika also acquired her veterinary technician degree. She no longer works as a parasitologist in a corporate laboratory. She is Kansas City’s only one woman stunt show and sword swallower. Thirteen years under her belt she entertains with innovative stunts such as barbed wire hula hooping. All the while incorporating informative uplifting messages in her shows and workshops. Martika’s main message? No matter how terrifying a goal may be, it is achievable. Martika has since been featured on numerous local news outlets such as Fox 4 News KC, The Pitch and Lawrence Business Magazine, to name a few. She travels solo around the world performing one woman stunt shows. Martika also teaches a variety of ground circus workshops. She started her teaching journey in 2011 being a weekly hula hoop instructor at Kansas city local aerial arts school, Learning 2 Fly. She has since worked with the top international yoga festival, Wanderlust 108. She has traveled coast to coast across the USA teaching at art festivals, schools, and libraries. Martika joined the KCAA team teaching ground circus acts in 2023.
